Truck & Trailer Hire · Northern Ireland
Spot rental, contract hire and rent-to-buy from a fleet built for Northern Irish operators. Modern kit, sorted maintenance, and someone local who picks up the phone.
How it works
Extra capacity the same week, with no long contract behind it.
A fixed monthly cost and a vehicle that stays yours for the term.
Run the vehicle now, decide on owning it later.
The fleet
SDC, Dennison and Lawrence David trailers, ENXL rated and ready for an operator licence.
Sleeper-cab 4×2 and 6×2 units from the makes your drivers already know.
Single and multi-temp fridges for Northern Ireland agri-food work, with the temperature records your customers can audit.
Need something not listed? Flats, skellies and box vans can be sourced on request. Tell us what the job needs.
Ex-fleet sales
Trailers and units rotated out of the hire fleet. Every one comes with its full service file, fresh test, and a walk-round before you commit.

Compliance
Since April 2025, DVSA expects a laden brake test on every trailer, every quarter. Or brake performance monitoring that proves the trailer stops. That is four yard visits a year, per trailer. Unless the kit does it for you.
Hire compliant kitWhy Culcavy
You deal with people here, not a call centre across the water.
Maintenance and inspection records to keep your operator licence clean.
If something goes wrong on the road, someone answers the phone. Any hour.
Over fifty years in the trade. Whatever comes up, we can handle it.
“Trailer was in our yard the next morning, plated and ready. You ring and somebody answers.”
“Two fridges over the Christmas peak with no drama and no small print. Straight dealing.”
Serviced. Plated. Ready to earn.
Every truck and trailer goes out road-legal, with the paperwork to keep your operator licence clean.
Before you ring
A copy of your operator licence and insurance that covers hired-in vehicles. Send both over and we can usually hand kit over the same week.
You do. Most hauliers already carry hired-in cover on their policy. Check yours before the kit arrives, and ask your broker if you are not sure.
Often the next working day. Tell us what you need and when you need it. If it is in the yard, it moves.
Yes. We deliver and collect anywhere in Northern Ireland, or you can lift it from the yard yourself if that suits better.
Handled. Our trailers run EBPMS, which DVSA accepts in place of quarterly laden brake tests. You get the brake performance report every month, ready for your records.
Handled. Inspections, servicing and the records that go with them are covered on every vehicle we put out. Breakdown cover runs 24/7.
Fair wear and tear is expected. Anything beyond that is chargeable at cost. We walk the vehicle with you at handover and at return, so there are no surprises.
