Compliance

Your brake-test problem, gone

Since April 2025, DVSA expects a laden brake test on every trailer, every quarter. Or brake performance monitoring that proves the trailer stops. That is four yard visits a year, per trailer. Unless the kit does it for you.

Before you ring

Straight answers

What do I need to hire?

A copy of your operator licence and insurance that covers hired-in vehicles. Send both over and we can usually hand kit over the same week.

Who insures it while it is on hire?

You do. Most hauliers already carry hired-in cover on their policy. Check yours before the kit arrives, and ask your broker if you are not sure.

How fast can you get me a trailer?

Often the next working day. Tell us what you need and when you need it. If it is in the yard, it moves.

Do you deliver?

Yes. We deliver and collect anywhere in Northern Ireland, or you can lift it from the yard yourself if that suits better.

What about the quarterly brake tests?

Handled. Our trailers run EBPMS, which DVSA accepts in place of quarterly laden brake tests. You get the brake performance report every month, ready for your records.

What about servicing and breakdowns?

Handled. Inspections, servicing and the records that go with them are covered on every vehicle we put out. Breakdown cover runs 24/7.

What happens if it comes back damaged?

Fair wear and tear is expected. Anything beyond that is chargeable at cost. We walk the vehicle with you at handover and at return, so there are no surprises.
